THUNDERBOSS
We are happy to announce that THUNDERBOSS has arrived! Everyone loves this debut CD from J.P. ´Thunderbolt´ Patterson & Ross the Boss! J.P."Thunderbolt" Patterson may be best known as the longtime drummer for NYC punk legends, The Dictators and a founding member of "Handsome" Dick Manitoba´s Dictators spinoff group, Manitoba´s Wild Kingdom. In addition to 16 years of recording and touring with the Dictators, J.P.´s career has also included five years spent with indie rock faves The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, as well as performing and/or recording with Joey Ramone, Dee Dee Ramone, Patti Rothberg, Lemmy, Rhys Chatham, Timmy Cappello and so many more. J.P. now endorses Pearl Drums, Remo Heads, Vic Firth Sticks and ESP Guitars.

For most of his life, J.P. has also been a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He has appeared in literally hundreds of movies and television shows. On camera, he´s played roles in movies like Cookie, At First Sight and Just My Luck that have taken him from being Val Kilmer´s waiter to being an engineer for Lindsey Lohan and Jennifer Lopez. Off camera he´s done everything up to and including being cast as David Lee Roth´s stand in!

You´ll see J.P. lurking in the background of School of Rock, Almost Famous Fatal Attraction, Private Parts, One Fine Day, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Big, Scrooged, Awakenings, Green Card, El Cantante, The Hoax, The Brave One, Die Hard with a Vengenance, Tenderness, Music and Lyrics By, Wedding Album, Chapter 27, Copland; Bright Lights, Big City, Married to the Mob, Boys on the Side, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, January Man, Last Exit to Brooklyn, New York Stories, Alfie, The Forgotten, Secret Window, Whirly Girl, Molly Gunn, Law and Order, Law and Order Criminal Intent, The Sopranos, OZ, Sex and the City, Third Watch, Search for Tomorrow, Another World, Ed, and yes, even Sesame Street!

Although J.P. is a longtime resident of New York, the city that made him famous, he spent his formative years growing up in Afghanistan. The son of an American diplomat, J.P. was well traveled at an early age and has lived in such exotic places as Zambia and Rwanda. Perhaps it is some of those early multi-cultural influences that add an exciting flavor to his solo work and help Thunderboss soar above rehashed rock mediocrity.

Thunderboss is J.P´s debut solo effort. He wrote, arranged and produced the 11 song record that can be called a soundtrack to life. Accompanied by Ross the Boss, founding member of the Dictators and metal legends Manowar, on lead guitar, J.P. played most of the other instruments himself, calling on engineer C.J. Scioscia to provide some finishing touches and textures.

Cruising in and out between surf-punk, arena rock and world fusion, Thunderboss captures the imagination and takes the listener on an adventure that is every bit as exciting as J.P´s real life. Available now from Poptown Records, Thunderboss is an expression of decadence and a declaration of independence from homogenized corporate playlists.

Live outside the box! Be bold! Get Thunderboss!

Regaltones Show a Smashing Success
The Regal Tones played their first show in 41 years to an audience of 1000 rowdy music fans in the 1000 Islands NY July 8th. The show lasted over 3 hours with a 20 minute intermission while the band dried off and changed outfits. The event created a substantial contribution for the Ryan Russell Scholarship Fund and the most asked question of the night was, "When are you going to do it again?" The event was videotaped and recorded by several people so some sort of documentary of the event is very likely to be available in the near future. Having heard and seen a couple of the recordings I can safely say a very special night was captured.

Bouchard Brothers in Golf Tournament
On Monday July 17th Albert and Joe were part of a foursome with I-95 DJs Ethan and Pam for the I-95 ESPN Shootout at Candlewood Valley Country Club. The four celebrities represented themselves well until the 15th hole when they were informed that there was no chance of winning and all the hole-in-one contests were over while the temperature on the course climbed above 100 degrees. They promptly retired to the clubhouse for some cool liquid refreshment and talked golf and rock road stories.

Brain Surgeons Around the World
Since joining MySpace last Aug 27, at the suggestion of Kim, a lovely lady in Jackson, MS, Brain Surgeons NYC now have over 11,000 new (as well as old-- MySpace has also been a great place for finding the "long lost" and vice-versa) friends. The response from people, many of whom are hearing our music for the first time, has been astounding. As those of you who've had the taste and fortitude to stick with us since our humble beginnings are aware, few bands are capable of creating the kind of music the Surgeons do. And particularly live, with the addition of Ross the Boss, even fewer are capable of kicking so much ass! DENIAL of DEATH, available since March 15, has quickly become a favorite among old and new fans alike. There have been over a dozen reviews of the new BSNYC album Denial of Death. You can see some on the Reviews page. The Brain Surgeons rock the radio. Stations playing us around the country and world include: KFAI, WRIF, WBXQ Q94, Head Bangers Basement, Radio Mayhem, KRBS, Bad Attitude Radio, AutopsyReport Radio Show, STEEL 93 www.STEEL93.com and WRLR. Nearly a month later, the first pressing is nearly sold out. Don't wait too long if you haven't ordered a copy, or there may be a delay. Consider yourselves warned.
Brain Surgeons NYC will be playing cities and towns in the South and Midwest US this summer. Selected dates in Europe are planned for November. Details and updates are posted on both www.MySpace.com/brainsurgeons and www. cellsum.com.

Release of Denial of Death Imminent
The new Brain Surgeons album Denial of Death is in final production. The official Cellsum Records release date is March 15th but check here in a couple weeks to see when you can get yours. It is the first Brain Surgeons album with all new songs, no covers or songs created for former groups. Recorded mostly live it is also the first BSNYC album with no keyboards or funny home-made instruments (just an oversight I'm sure). It also marks a new phase of the Brain Surgeons career with a harder more urban sound as indicated by the NYC suffix to the more familiar name.

Special thanks to Gary Kolesar. Contributing photographers; Ebet Roberts, Jonathan Levine, Jacob Bouchard, Paul Orofino, Mariah Agar, Gail Banks, Melanie Laperriere, Mike Figo, John Weekley, Bob Cowley, Glyn Emmerson, Dorothy Lee, Joe Sardo, Gypsy Brown, DDenizen, Bruce Henry
